About product

Instrument panel for the Grumman TBF-1 Avenger 1:72 (Yahu Models)

This is a finished photo-etched accessory, not an aircraft model. The panel from the manufacturer Yahu Models is pre-printed in full color with faithful dials and is ready for immediate use. It replaces the flat plastic part from the base kit and markedly raises the realism of the interior in a small scale.

The real subject

The Grumman TBF Avenger was an American carrier-based torpedo bomber of the Second World War. In the TBF-1 version it carried a crew of three and was deployed above all in the fighting in the Pacific. It was among the most widespread torpedo machines of the US Navy.

Fitting and use

Sand the original molded panel from the kit smooth and glue the color photo-etched part on with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary cement for plastic is not suitable here. Thanks to the pre-printed finish, painting is unnecessary and the glossy dials imitate the glazing. The parts are very small in this scale, so tweezers and a steady hand pay off.

Who it is for

  • Modelers building the Avenger in 1:72 scale
  • Those interested in bringing a cockpit to life quickly without an airbrush
  • More experienced builders used to small photo-etched parts

This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
