A kit of the battleship Musashi of the autumn of 1944 in 1:700 scale. The full-hull version supplemented, according to the name, with etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the giant Japanese battleship in the state in which she put to sea for her last task. The name of the item joins three pieces of information: the year, the version with a complete hull and added etched metal parts. Precisely the photo-etch sets this version apart from the basic version of the same vessel.
In the autumn of 1944 the Musashi set out as part of a force that was to disrupt the landing in the Philippines. On the way a series of air attacks from American aircraft carriers caught her, and after hits from bombs and torpedoes the vessel capsized and sank. The ship then carried exceptionally dense antiaircraft armament, added to throughout the whole year, and it is precisely in that that her late form differs from the earlier state.
Leave the metal components on the sheet as long as possible and cut them off only just before fitting. For holding them use tweezers with flat jaws; a sharp tip easily shoots the part away. Glue the radar aerials and the cranes at the close of the whole build. If you plan weathering, apply it before the railings are mounted, otherwise the hull is hard to reach.
The package contains unassembled parts without paint. Glues and varnishes are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
