Fujimi 1:700 Ijn Kagero Class Destroyer Kagero is a kit of a Japanese destroyer with decals for the names of fourteen sister ships.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fujimi offers the destroyer Kagero, after which the whole class is named, in 1:700 reduction. The special feature, according to the name, is a decal sheet with the names of fourteen vessels of the same type, so that several differently marked ships can be built from one box.
The Kagero class was among the most successful Japanese destroyers of its day. The ships combined a decent range, strong torpedo armament and good sea-keeping qualities, thanks to which they carried the main burden of the night clashes and of escort duties in the southwest Pacific. The Kagero herself served from the end of the 1930s and perished in the spring of 1943 off the Solomon Islands after damage from a mine and a subsequent air attack.
Before you reach for the decals, decide which of the ships offered you want to portray, because the individual units differed in the details of their equipment. Paint the small weapon positions while they are still on the sprue. After gluing, sand the hull at the joint, so that the dividing line is not visible. A faint transitional shade on the sides will give the hull depth and break up the unbroken gray.
The goods are sold as an unassembled set without a finish; secure tools, glue and paints separately.
