The Westland Lysander is a British single-engine high-wing monoplane created for cooperation with ground units, observation and liaison duties. Its strut-braced wing with slots and flaps gave it a short takeoff and landing, the landing gear is fixed and the wheels are hidden in teardrop fairings. What is decisive for a modeler is the extensive cabin glazing with its dense network of frames, which is very slow to mask by hand. The designations Mk.I and Mk.III belong to two forms of this machine.

The pieces are cut to finished shapes at the factory, so all you need is to lift them off the backing, transfer them onto the model with tweezers and press them down. A plan in the package shows where they go. The set is shaped for a particular kit, which the manufacturer's instructions name; when ordering, the manufacturer's part number is therefore what decides.
Wash the glazing in lukewarm water before masking and let it dry. Stick the masks on before spraying and press their edges down with a blunt tip, so that the paint does not creep under them. Spray lightly and in several coats; a heavy coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible once it is removed. Pull the mask off shortly after the paint is dry to the touch, not days later, when the adhesive has dried onto the surface.
For a modeler who is building the Lysander in 1:48 and wants the cabin frames sharp and of even width. The package contains the masking sheets as listed by the manufacturer; the kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
