This set contains colored self-adhesive 3D decals for the interior of the cockpit of a model of the American P-38F Lightning fighter in 1:48 scale. Unlike flat decals, the detail is printed on a flexible film with fine relief, so the instrument panel, the side panels and other controls gain depth and a three-dimensional look with no need for photo-etched parts or resin.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a twin-engine fighter with a characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle for the pilot. The P-38F version was among the early machines put into combat and made its mark in the Mediterranean and in the Pacific. The roomy cockpit with a multitude of instruments is a rewarding place for detailed work on the interior.
Carefully cut the individual parts out of the sheet, lift them off the backing and place them in the corresponding spot in the cockpit; the flexible film adapts to the shape of the plastic. For better adhesion the surfaces can be degreased and a drop of water-based glue or a softener used if needed. The detail is already finished in color, so you do not have to shade the interior laboriously.
This is a set of decals for an interior, not a kit. The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
