One sheet of pre-cut parts covers the glazing of the cabins, the side windows and the tires of the 1:48 Mi-24D model. The set deals exclusively with the outer side of the glazing: it is not intended for the inner framing, which is worth allowing for with a model with a built-up cabin. The cut corresponds to the shapes of the glass parts of the Trumpeter 05812 kit.
Compared with the first series, the D version received a completely new nose with two separate cabins one above the other and with pronounced armored glass. It is precisely this shape that makes masking the glazing on a model a lengthy business: the frames are narrow, broken and hard to measure out with tape. The rounded armored glass of the front cabin additionally creates reflections, which during hand work tempt you into imprecise seating. A pre-cut shape shortens this part of the build to a few minutes.
First rinse and dry the clear parts, so that no greasy film remains on them. Transfer the mask with tweezers, seat it by the corner of the frame and press it down from the middle toward the edges. Fit the circular parts for the tires so that the rim of the rubber stays free, and apply the paint in two thin layers. Remove the film only once the model has cooled after drying.
