FS30372 Sandgrey - Camouflage Colors

A sand gray camouflage shade

The light sand gray from the camouflage range of the Lifecolor brand is supplied in a bottle of 22 ml and is thinned with water. The number 30372 of the American FS standard determines it unambiguously, so the resulting tone can be compared with the products of other manufacturers without arguing over the name.

The character of the shade

It is a warm, slightly greenish sand with a strong gray undertone. That is precisely why on a large area it comes across calmly and does not shout, which corresponds to a desert and semidesert environment. Shades from this group are connected in modeling practice above all with equipment deployed in the Middle East, but they are also used wherever a base finish is to look bleached by the sun. On a model it pays to count on light tones optically enlarging the area and emphasizing every unevenness of the surface.

Working with the paint

• stir the contents of the bottle until the sediment at the bottom disappears
• spray the areas in several goes; the covering power of light sands grows gradually
• for a brush thin the paint rather less, as otherwise it runs off the edges
• the transitions between camouflage fields can be blurred with reduced pressure
• an even surface will make later weathering easier
• let a finished area cure properly before masking

A note on handling

The product does not belong in the hands of children. When spraying, ensure the exchange of air in the room and protect your breathing; wash splashed skin with water and soap while the paint is still wet.
