Masking squares with a radius in the corners, sides of 3 to 3.9 mm in steps of 0.1 mm from SX-Art. The middle size group of the square sheets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The middle one of the square sheets offers a scale starting at three millimeters and ending just under four. One tenth separates neighboring sizes, so eight intermediate steps lie between the extreme values. The corners are rounded with the same radius across the whole series.
The most reliable way is a transfer on tape. Lay a piece of low-tack tape on the sheet, lift as many squares with it at once as you need, and carry them over to the model on the tape. The spacing is kept that way and you do not have to aim each piece separately. Then peel the tape away at an angle and the squares stay in place.
Three to four millimeters cover roughly ten to fourteen centimeters in 1:35 scale. They therefore fit instrument covers, square windows, hatches on a superstructure and the small areas where a different shade is oversprayed. In larger scales they will serve for steps and grilles.
The film needs a smooth surface free of sanding dust and grease. It is applied to a cured base, never to paint that is still soft. Before spraying proper, go over the edges with a blunt tip so that they do not lift anywhere. On a dark base the outline of a mask tends to be hard to see, so mark its position out beforehand with a soft pencil, whose trace disappears under the coat.
