A single soldier from the line 1:35 MACV SOG Soldier Vietnam 07 is intended for scenes from the Vietnam War. The resin casting awaits assembly and painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The small patrols that SOG sent out into unexplored terrain had an unusual make-up: one or two Americans and with them up to nine indigenous fighters. Montagnards, Nung, Hmong and Cambodians served in them, and it was precisely on their knowledge of the country that the success of the whole enterprise rested. The figure represents one such man in 1:35 scale and suits anywhere a scene is meant to tell of a small group far from support.
The BlackSnake Model brand comes from France and models and prints its sets there as well. The casting is produced on a high-resolution printer and travels to the customer in raw resin, as a single figure with no paint. Division into several pieces is usual with printed figures and makes it easier to reach the places that would be hard to paint on a one-piece casting.
First go over the places left by the print supports; they usually sit on the underside of the boots, on the back or under the equipment, so they can be leveled with no risk to the detail. It pays to strengthen the joint of the arm and the body with a short pin of thin wire. A light gray base reveals where a hairline groove from printing is still left. A slightly adjusted tilt of the head can give the figure a movement that shows at once in a scene.
You get the figure unassembled, with no paint and no glue.
