The printed figure 1:35 MACV SOG Soldier Vietnam 10 extends the line of soldiers of the Vietnam War. It is a resin casting to be assembled.
Responsibility details are not available.
The typical look of this unit was made up of a combination you will not find anywhere else in the American army of the day: the camouflage pattern called tiger stripe, taken over from South Vietnamese units, and with it the short CAR-15 carbine, occasionally completed by a shortened version of the M79 grenade launcher. Not infrequently the men reached for the enemy's submachine gun as well, because ammunition for it was at hand. All of that, moreover, was only talked about publicly long after the fighting ended.
The figure is created by the BlackSnake Model brand in France by printing from resin. The customer gets one figure as a raw casting, with no paint and unassembled, in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer keeps to short runs and sells the individual figures separately, so you put a group together according to your own idea of a scene.
It pays to carefully drill the muzzle of the barrel out with a micro drill, a small intervention that moves a figure up a class. Build the camouflage pattern from the lightest tone toward the dark stripes and let the base color of the cloth show between them. Build the skin up in glazes over a brownish base and suggest the eyes rather than draw them, because at this size a painted white of the eye is distracting. Finish the weapon separately; access to the trigger and the sling is then incomparably easier.
The figure comes unassembled and with no paint; paints and glue are not included.
