1:35 Panzer IV steel return rollers, pattern 1, 1943 - 45 is a set of replacement all-steel return rollers for one vehicle in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of small parts that replace the return rollers on the upper run of the track on a model of the Panzer IV in 1:35 scale. The manufacturer sizes it for one vehicle and marks it as the first of four shape variants, with a period of use from 1943 to the end of the war.
German production ran into a shortage of rubber in the autumn of 1943 and answered it by abandoning rollers with a rubber tire band on the Panzer IV and going over to all-steel rollers. The change affected precisely the upper, return run of the track, where the demands on damping were not as high as on the road wheels. Visually it is a striking difference: instead of a smooth dark band, a metal disc with a pressed or cast profile can be seen, which also rusts quickly and offers a rewarding surface in painting.
Cut the original rollers off the kit and level the surface of the mount so that the new parts sit on one axis. Separate the replacements from the casting block with a fine-toothed saw and sand the mating surfaces. The joint is made with super glue, and it is good to try the parts dry first. A steel surface suits a dark metal base, over which a thin layer of rust is laid with a stippling technique and finally dust settled on the lower edge.
