Responsibility details are not available.
A figure in 1:35 scale capturing a seated armed man from the crew of a British tank transporter tractor as it served in North Africa. In the range it is the first pose, so it is reckoned that it can be rounded out with further figures into a single scene.
The Scammell was a British heavy tractor used in the desert to recover and move damaged as well as running tanks. Moving equipment was crucial in North Africa: the distances were great, tracks wore out quickly, and a towed wreck could be repaired and sent back into the fight. The crew of such a machine spent hours sitting in the cab or on the load, which is what this pose captures.
A model of a vehicle without people reads as an exhibit. A single well-seated figure gives a scene a sense of scale and suggests what is going on. A seated pose also suits places where there is no room for a standing figure, that is the cab or the side of the bed.
Always try a seated pose dry in the place it is to go, and only then glue it; the angle of the seat and the height of the floor differ from model to model and the legs sometimes have to be adjusted. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Paint the face and the hands before you seat the figure, because in a cab you will no longer reach them with a brush.
The package holds the figure described in the name. A model of the vehicle, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
