This injection molded plastic kit of the Tamiya brand in 1:24 scale captures the luxury coupe Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC from the beginning of the 1980s. The model faithfully reproduces the five-liter V8 engine as well as the elaborate interior, and the engine hood can be lifted to reveal the power plant. The chassis, the independent suspension of all the wheels, the driveshaft and the underside of the car are rendered in detail too. The finished model is about 21 cm long.
The Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC was the top coupe of the S line of the 1980s, combining a powerful eight-cylinder engine, an aerodynamic body and the finest level of comfort of its time. It was among the most prestigious cars of its class and to this day it is a sought-after youngtimer.
Overspray the body with filler primer and apply the gloss clear coat with an airbrush; on a car of this class a deep gloss stands out. The instructions give several period body colors. Paint the engine and the interior with a brush before the final assembly; chrome trim will bring out a realistic look. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
