Hungarian national insignia and numerals valid after 1990, printed for models in 1:72 scale.

When the form of the national marking changed in 1990, the aircraft stayed the same; only the symbol on the fuselage and on the tail was exchanged. For a modeler that is a rewarding situation: two completely different-looking examples can be built from one kit, it is just a matter of reaching for the right markings. This sheet supplies the later variant.
The chosen range ends in 1998, that is, shortly before the country's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance. Subjects from those years do not yet have the subdued colors of the later schemes, so the insignia really stands out on a model and tends to be the first thing a viewer notices.
In a small scale it pays to apply the elements one at a time and let each settle before the next comes up. A protective varnish then evens out the sheen of the whole area. Anyone building several machines at once will appreciate that the set of numerals is not used up by a single model.
It is worth noting that in this period Hungarian machines carried both old two-digit and new three-digit numbers depending on the type and the unit, so before applying them it helps to verify the particular example on a period shot rather than simply taking the first number found.
