Responsibility details are not available.
A demanding resin and 3D-printed kit of the German Albatros D.II fighter biplane of the First World War in the large scale of 1:32 from the Polish maker Lukgraph. It is a multimedia kit for experienced modelers, not an ordinary injection-molded plastic one.
The Albatros D.II was one of the first successful German fighters of the First World War. It introduced an elegant streamlined fuselage and a pair of synchronized machine guns, thanks to which the Germans gained temporary air superiority over the Western Front at the turn of 1916 and 1917. The type was flown by a number of the aces of the day and, together with the later D.III version, laid the foundation of the so-called Albatros era. A wooden semi-monocoque fuselage gave the aircraft clean aerodynamic shapes for its time. The Early designation captures the early production form.
Wash the parts free of any remnants of mold release agent first, cut off the casting blocks and sand with respiratory protection. It is glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Reckon on bracing wires between the wings and on imitating the wooden texture of the fuselage. Fragile struts are best strengthened with wire, and the bracing is tensioned only once the joints have dried. The build calls for patience and experience.
The model is supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
