A round rivet 0.7 mm in diameter. The second grade available in the family, suitable for regular grids of rivets on larger surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
Riveting rarely appears on a model in isolation. It is almost always a row or a field, and from the point of view of durability that is good news. Neighbors shelter each other, so anything that passes over the surface rests against the whole group rather than against a single protruding point.
Seven tenths of a millimeter is a rewarding dimension for such surfaces. The pieces are distinct but not yet distracting, and the spacing can be chosen so that a gap of roughly two to three diameters is left between them. A denser layout looks in a photograph like a merged line, a sparser one like random dots.
The most conspicuous mistake, after all, tends not to be a missing rivet but a rivet seated differently from the rest. The eye notices the broken regularity at once and the surface loses the impression the whole work was done for.
It therefore pays to mark the spacing out in advance, say with a faint line and marks at equal intervals. Installing then goes quickly and the result stays regular even where the surface runs into a curve.
On curves, incidentally, it pays to work from the most prominent place toward the edges. Any deviation is then hidden where nobody looks, instead of jumping out in the middle of the best-lit surface.
