The heaviest lowered version in this family, eleven tenths of a millimeter across, with a washer of larger diameter. A good upper anchor for laying out the sizes of the joints across a whole model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The credibility of a large scale does not rest on one successful detail but on the individual details going together. When joints from two different scales meet on a build, the eye registers it, even if it cannot name why. Keeping to a single graded family is therefore more practical than looking for the best possible head for each joint separately.
This width represents the ceiling within the lowered version. Above it the family continues only a tenth higher and the head stops looking lowered. The layout can be built from the top down: the heaviest joints get this grade, the middle band two tenths less, the small details the finest size. Three levels are enough and they keep a spacing between them that is clearly noticeable once converted.
Anyone who builds several models will appreciate one more thing: a uniform scale carries over from one build to the next. A layout that proved itself on the first machine can be used again, only shifted according to how hefty the subject is. The collection then looks of a piece, because all the machines in it speak the same language of detail.
It remains to mention that a uniform layout is easy to note down. A simple note of which size went where is enough, and when building the next machine the deciding starts no longer from scratch. After a few models a proven procedure arises from it, one that can be returned to at any time.
