Ten Israeli plastic oil cans in 1:35 scale. Resin castings for modern armored hardware and for rear-area scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
For transport containers the Israeli army moved from the classic sheet-metal can to molded plastic, because plastic does not corrode, weighs less and takes desert service without dented corners. The containers are told apart by their contents so that a crew in the field does not confuse drinking water with service fluids, and this set matches the version for oil. The cans are carried outside, strapped to the side plates, on the rear or in baskets above the tracks, and they are part of the typical picture of a vehicle operating away from base.
The subject is blow-molded from plastic, and that shows: the edges are rounded, the walls slightly convex and a faint mold seam runs around the circumference. The casting keeps these marks, because it carries soft shapes across more faithfully than sharp molded relief does. The containers are solid, so they cannot be opened; a view inside would call for reworking them yourself.
Separate the pieces from the common block with a saw and go over the mating surface only lightly. Then wash the surface and let it dry completely. In color terms this is plastic, not metal: use a semi-matte coat with no metallic cast, and handle the soiling with dust and greasy traces around the neck rather than with scuffed sheet metal. It is precisely this difference that makes a scene believable.
Ten pieces are enough for two vehicles, or for one vehicle and a little pile by a camp.
As a point of interest: a pile of containers by a wheel is a rewarding way to fill an empty spot on a base without the scene looking overcrowded.
