A diorama accessory in 1:35 scale by Gecko Models, the Value pack of British early-type 4 gallon sheet metal fuel containers nicknamed flimsies. It is not a vehicle model but a set of detailed plastic cans that bring a diorama to life or fill the cargo bed of a vehicle. The pack contains a larger number of containers, so it is enough for several scenes.
The 4 gallon flimsies were light sheet metal containers that British forces used in quantity to carry fuel in the early years of the Second World War, above all in the North African theater. Their thin walls were prone to leaking and damage, which led to considerable losses of fuel. It was exactly that experience which contributed to the later introduction of the tougher jerrycan.
Clean the parts up and glue them with cement for plastic. Variety helps the fidelity: leave some containers new and clean, and make others dented, rusted and streaked with fuel. Lay down a primer, then sheet metal shades and pigments; pick the damaged pieces out with rust and oily stains. Arranging them in groups and beside vehicles fills a scene naturally.
This is a diorama accessory, not a vehicle model. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
