The Nissan Skyline GT-R of the R34 generation is a Japanese coupe that won its reputation above all through all-wheel drive and a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with two turbochargers. Transferring the power to both axles as needed and steering the rear wheels made it a machine that behaved differently on a circuit from the other coupes of its day. The V-Spec II rendition is a more sharply tuned version with a stiffer suspension; its recognition feature is a hood of carbon composite with an intake opening.
This is a finished model in 1:64 scale, that is of a size around seven centimeters. It is neither built nor glued; it goes from the package straight onto the shelf. It is supplied in a blister, which serves as the retail wrapper and at the same time as protection during transport; collectors often leave it intact. The car is in the Millennium Jade shade, which on this type is associated with the last year of production.
A small scale tempts one to stand a whole line of cars side by side on one shelf. A display case, or at least a place out of direct sun, will do the model good, because light and metallic paints fade in time. Brush the dust off with a soft brush, not with a cloth, which leaves fine scratches on a glossy surface. Take hold of the model by the body, not by the mirrors and the spoiler, which tend to be the thinnest things in a small scale. Cars of this scale line up in rows well, because considerably more of them stand side by side on one shelf than with the larger collector's scales.
