Replacement wheels with a flattened tire for a PV-1 Ventura model in 1:48 scale. According to the name they are cut for the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The PV-1 Ventura is an American twin-engine patrol and bomber aircraft from the time of the Second World War. It came about by adapting an airliner and flew patrol and anti-submarine missions in navy colors. Its hallmarks are the radial engines in bulky nacelles and the tall vertical tail surface.
The set replaces the wheels of a model in 1:48 scale with replacement parts with a corrected shape and with the flattening that mimics a tire loaded by the weight of the machine. A flattened wheel gives the finished model the impression that it really stands on the ground, and at the same time it corrects the shape of the hub and the tread against the kit parts. According to the name the set is cut for the Revell kit in the same scale; dry-fit it before gluing all the same.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for polystyrene will not hold on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate or two-part glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully so that the shape of the edge does not disappear. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will come off during handling. When gluing, make sure that the flattened part of the tire points toward the ground and that the wheel axle stays horizontal; otherwise the model stands crooked and the mistake shows at first glance.
For modelers who build the PV-1 Ventura in 1:48 scale and want the landing gear taken all the way in detail. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
