The real subject

The Bf 109 G-10 belongs among the last production versions of the most widespread German fighter of the Second World War. It came about in the very close of the war, when machines were assembled in several plants and from various deliveries of parts. That is precisely why with late Messerschmitts you meet unusually varied finishes, oversprays and markings which differ from machine to machine. For a modeler it is a tempting theme: he reaches twice for the same kit and each time builds an aircraft that looks different.

What the sheet contains

Decals for a model of the Bf 109 in the version named, in 1:48 scale. The number of finishes, the scope of the markings and the real subject of the individual machines are given by the manufacturer in the instructions for the sheet.

Application tips

• Varnish the base with gloss varnish and let it dry properly; on a matte surface a white veil appears under a decal.
• Soak the decal only briefly and move it onto the model together with its paper; it can then be slid with tweezers over the smooth wet surface.
• Apply the softener thinly and do not touch the decal for a while; a softened film tears easily.
• Wipe water and remains of adhesive off with a damp cloth before they dry, otherwise they stay visible.
• At the end spray the model over with matte or semi gloss varnish, by which the edges of the decals disappear.

For a modeler who is building a late Messerschmitt and wants its markings to differ from the usual kit offerings. This is an accessory; the model itself is not included.
