Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Musashi from Tamiya in 1:700 scale, from the waterline range. The model represents the hull above the waterline and is built on a flat surface like a ship afloat. The package contains the parts of the massive hull, the main armament turrets, the superstructures and the light armament, from which the imposing silhouette of one of the largest warships in history is produced. It is a kit to be assembled and painted, not a finished model.
The Musashi was the second battleship of the Yamato class and, together with her sister ship, ranked among the most heavily armed and best armored battleships ever built. She carried main guns of exceptional caliber and had an enormous displacement. She served with the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Second World War in the Pacific. The model reproduces her characteristic sturdy silhouette.
A waterline model is built on a flat base; glue the turrets and the superstructures with a careful touch and the small parts of the antiaircraft armament with cyanoacrylate. Paint the hull and the decks in naval gray with the wooden sections set apart. The bulk of the hull comes out best after a dark wash into the recesses and a fine patina. The detail can be raised with photo-etched railings and a stand from the aftermarket range.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
