This is an aftermarket detail set, not a ship model. The package contains 12 lathe-machined brass barrels for the German 30.5 cm SK L/50 naval gun. The metal barrels are hollow and have a faithful profile, which in the tiny 1:700 scale is practically impossible to capture in plastic.

What it is for

The accessory replaces the original plastic main battery barrels on models of German large warships of the First World War period, of the classes carrying this caliber (for example the Helgoland, Kaiser and König classes and the Derfflinger class battlecruiser). The result is straight, sharp and hollow barrel muzzles.

Fitting

• Cut off the original plastic barrel and clean up the spot.
• Drill a hole of the matching diameter in the gun turret.
• Glue the brass barrel in with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• The parts can be degreased and painted before gluing.
