The Aoshima 1:700 IJN Destroyer Akigumo 1943 is an injection-molded plastic kit of a Japanese destroyer from the Waterline range.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima captures the destroyer Akigumo of the Imperial Japanese Navy in her 1943 fit. The model is conceived in the style of the Waterline series, that is, a ship cut at the waterline, meant for a water surface or a diorama.
The Akigumo was a Japanese destroyer deployed in the Pacific during the Second World War. Destroyers of this generation were fast and heavily armed vessels with gun as well as torpedo armament and were used to escort groups, for night actions and for convoy escort. The 1943 appearance matches her wartime configuration.
It is worth assembling the hull, the decks and the superstructures separately and painting them apart. The small guns, torpedo tubes and masts will be brought out by thin coats of paint and a wash; photo-etched parts can be added for the fine railings and ladders. Use shades of Japanese naval gray and a final matte clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
