Wooden deck for a model of the Japanese aircraft carrier Kaga in 1:700 scale, cut for the Fujimi 430300 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A wooden deck overlay for a model in 1:700 scale, shaped for the Fujimi 430300 kit. On an aircraft carrier this is the most conspicuous area of the whole model: the flight deck takes up almost the entire plan and is visible from every angle. Real wood on it shows both the grain and the division into planks, a level of detail that paint imitates only with difficulty in this scale.
Kaga was a Japanese aircraft carrier created by converting a hull originally intended for a large surface ship. She entered service between the world wars and belonged to the core of the Japanese carrier force at the start of the war in the Pacific. She was lost in June 1942 at the Battle of Midway. What matters for the model is that the flight decks of ships of that period were covered with a wooden planked surface.
A wooden deck is supplied. The ship kit, paints, varnish and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
