Artwox Model 1:700, a wooden deck for the Japanese battleship Ise after her conversion into an aircraft carrier is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the ship. Intended for the Hasegawa 119 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a model but an aftermarket accessory to a plastic kit in 1:700 scale. The package holds a veneer deck with a self-adhesive base and with the printed laying of the planks, cut to the shape of the deck areas of a particular kit. The set is intended for the Hasegawa 119 kit.
The Ise was a Japanese battleship that during the war went through a conversion into a so-called aviation battleship: at the stern, in place of the after pair of gun turrets, an area for aircraft with a hangar and catapults was set up. A hybrid thus arose whose stern has a different division and different deck covering from the original form of the ship, which shows in the shape of this set as well.
The deck of this configuration tends to be divided into several segments, because a single strip could not be seated across the changes of height and outline. Before you take the film off, lay all the parts out dry on the model and check how the pattern of the planks continues from one to the next, as on divided areas it is precisely the seam at the join that is most visible. Glue in order from the largest part to the smallest and push the individual segments tight together; a gap cannot be covered afterwards. Deal with any overhang by trimming on the spot, not by an estimate in advance.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model of the ship. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
