Tamiya 1:700 Japanese light cruiser Kuma is a plastic kit of a warship from the proven Waterline series, rendering the hull above the waterline.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese light cruiser Kuma in 1:700 scale from the traditional Waterline range by Tamiya. The model renders the hull in the waterline version, that is only the part above the waterline, so that the finished ship looks as if it were afloat. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Kuma was the lead ship of the light cruiser class of the same name in the Imperial Japanese Navy. She entered service in 1920 and during the Second World War operated mainly in the waters of Southeast Asia. She was distinguished by her slender hull, her characteristic silhouette with three funnels and a main armament of 14 cm caliber. The ship was sunk in 1944.
Cut the small parts of the superstructure and the armament off with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Supplementary photo-etched parts, railings for example, suit the fine detail. Paint with an airbrush in shades of Japanese naval gray, set the deck apart and bring the surface to life with a gentle wash and dry brushing to accent the details. The model can be mounted on a stand or set into an imitation of water.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
