This set brings 3D color interior decals for the cockpit of the carrier-based torpedo bomber Douglas TBD-1A Devastator. It is neither a model nor parts of one, but relief decals with a raised layer that take the place of laborious painting of instruments, consoles, belts and other details of the multi-seat pilot's compartment. The set is prepared for the corresponding plastic TBD-1A model in 1:48 scale. The shapes of the decals follow the parts of the Great Wall Hobby kit; that kit is not in the package.
The Douglas TBD Devastator was the first all-metal carrier-based monoplane of the US Navy with retractable landing gear. A modern machine in its day, it was the main torpedo aircraft at the beginning of the Pacific War; the TBD-1A version was an experimental floatplane conversion.
Apply the cockpit details before the fuselage is closed. Separate the individual motifs, dip them briefly in lukewarm water and slide them into place; the raised layer will appreciate a gentle decal softener. Leave the gloss dial faces without a flat clear coat so that they keep their glass effect.
This is a standalone cockpit detail accessory. Neither the plastic model nor paints are included in the package.
