A wooden deck with a mask and etch for the battleship Bismarck in 1:700 scale from Artwox Model covers the extensive deck surfaces with real veneer. This is an accessory for a ship kit, not a model. Intended for the Meng PS003 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name, the combined Artwox Model package contains an adhesive wooden deck, a masking sheet and photo-etched parts, all cut for the Meng PS003 kit. It is not a ship kit. The veneer is glued onto the finished plastic deck part and replaces the engraved imitation of planking.
This subject is one of the ships with a long uninterrupted deck, and that is exactly where the most common problem arises, namely air bubbles and waves. On a short section the veneer settles by itself; on a long one it does not. It therefore pays to divide the surface up and glue it in stages rather than lay it down all at once and hope that it settles flat.
The base has to be flat and degreased. Take the protective film off only on the first couple of centimeters from the center, set the veneer down along the centerline and uncover it further step by step. Press it down with a soft cloth over your finger or with a small roller and work the pressure from the centerline out to the sides, which drives the air out. If a bubble appears all the same, pierce it with the tip of a knife and press the surface down; patching it over is not worth it. We recommend sealing the finished deck with a matte varnish, which protects the veneer from the grease on your hands during the rest of the build.
An accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check the match with your kit before you buy.
