Large surface ships have a great many elements that can only be made in plastic at 1:700 scale with limited delicacy: railings, ladders, nets, radar aerials and fine gratings. Accessory sets erase that difference. The result shows above all in the outline of the ship against the light, where thin elements replace the thicker plastic moldings and the model stops looking coarse. On an aircraft carrier the difference is most noticeable on the edges of the flight deck and on the superstructure.
The set is intended for a particular model, so keep to the order given in the instructions: fit the parts that are to go under the decks or under the superstructure before you glue the main parts together. Bend thin elements over a straight edge, not in your fingers, and hold them with tweezers. Cyanoacrylate glue applied from the tip of a toothpick will handle the gluing. Paint only once everything is in place, ideally with an airbrush at very low pressure so that the fine parts do not start to vibrate. Then unify the finished model with one light overspray.
