The set contains twenty turned brass barrels for the American 127 mm (5 inch) dual-purpose gun of 38 calibers length, the Mark 12 type, in the build for turrets without canvas blast bags, in 1:700 scale. Canvas blast bags are the flexible covers at the point where the barrel comes out of the turret. The metal barrels from MASTER replace the plastic parts. It is not a ship model but a detail accessory.
The 127 mm/38 Mark 12 gun was the most widespread American dual-purpose (anti-ship and anti-aircraft) gun of the Second World War, carried by practically every larger American warship of the day. The build without canvas blast bags has the barrels coming straight out of the turret face.
Cut off the plastic barrels, clean up the turret faces and glue the turned parts in with cyanoacrylate. Twenty pieces cover many single and twin mountings. Treat the metal with a primer before painting.
The set contains only the turned barrels. The ship model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
