1:700 USS Nimitz CVN-68 (2005) is a photo-etched detail set from Eduard meant to improve a plastic kit of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in 1:700 scale. It is not a model but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set is a detail accessory, not a standalone ship model. It holds precisely etched brass parts that replace or supplement the coarser plastic elements of the kit of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in 1:700 scale. It typically brings fine railings, the safety nets around the flight deck, the edges of the elevators, antennas and other small details that plastic cannot capture.
USS Nimitz (CVN-68) is the lead ship of the class of the same name of American nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. She entered service in the mid-1970s and ranks among the largest warships in the world. She carries a strike wing of carrier aircraft and helicopters and for decades has formed the backbone of American naval groups. The 2005 appearance matches the modernized state with an updated superstructure and equipment.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret and bend them on a firm surface, ideally with a photo-etch bending tool. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with two-part epoxy. It is best to paint the railings and nets only once they are glued on, preferably with an airbrush in the color of the deck and the superstructure; the small antennas can be toned with a brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
