This decal sheet belongs to the subjects that are not seen at every show. While the European squadrons are worked over again and again, the American units committed in Asia stay on the sidelines, although they flew the same well-known type and their aircraft carried striking markings. The set contains the markings; the model itself is obtained separately.
The unit was formed during the Second World War and operated in the area between Burma, India and China. At first it flew a steeply diving type derived from the fighter, and later it moved on to standard Mustangs. The work consisted of escorting bomber formations, striking transport junctions, bridges and airfields, and supporting ground units over exceptionally demanding terrain. The crews contended with a tropical climate, difficult logistics across mountain ridges and great distances that forced extreme economy with fuel.
In the small scale it is above all the smoothness of the surface that decides. Give the area under the decal a gloss coat, lay the decal in lukewarm water for only a few seconds and let it slide into place off the backing paper. Over engraved panel lines use a decal softener so that the film settles into the detail, and finally unify everything with a matte coat.
