The plastic kit 3.7 cm FlaK 43 Flakpanzer IV Ostwind in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Dragon depicts the German anti-aircraft vehicle of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Dragon in 1:72 scale represents the German Flakpanzer IV Ostwind anti-aircraft vehicle with the FlaK 43 gun. It is a modern hybrid model that combines injection-molded plastic with 3D-printed turret parts and with photo-etched parts, which gives it fine detail in a small scale. The exact package contents are given on the box.
The Flakpanzer IV Ostwind was built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank and carried a single 3.7 cm FlaK 43 anti-aircraft gun in an open rotating turret. It served to protect armored units against low-flying Allied aircraft in the closing stage of the Second World War. The open turret allowed the crew to traverse and lay the gun quickly in every direction, but it left them exposed. Only a small number of the vehicles were built.
Wash the 3D-printed parts before building, and bend the photo-etched parts over a tool and bond them with super glue. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Assemble the running gear and the turret separately. For a late-war German scheme a combination of dark yellow, green and brown works well; final washes and pigments will bring out the texture and the dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
