1:72 A-10 wings + rear electronics is a Black Dog set aimed at the wings and the electronics in the rear part of the A-10 ground-attack aircraft. It is fitted into a kit under construction.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Black Dog set targets exactly the places that decide credibility in a small scale: the wings and the electronic equipment in the rear part of the fuselage of the A-10 ground-attack aircraft. It adds to an ordinary plastic kit and raises it to a display piece. The set goes into the model during the build; do not look for a finished aircraft in the package.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II came about for the direct support of ground units. The whole airframe is literally built around the seven-barrel cannon in the nose, an armored bathtub protects the pilot, and the pair of engines set high at the rear reduces both the heat signature and the risk of ingesting debris from an unpaved surface. The broad wings carry a row of pylons and allow it to fly slowly and low over the battlefield, which is crucial for this role.
Decide in advance which areas will stay open and subordinate the build to that, because once the fuselage is closed you will not reach the interior. Dry-fit the transitions and fill any gaps with a filler that has a long working time. Spray the interior spaces before you close them, and bring out the detail with a dark filling shade drawn into the recesses. For the metal surfaces of the engine section, pigments applied dry with a brush suit well.
The parts are supplied unpainted and fitting them assumes experience of reworking plastic.
