A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand, made by Aires, intended to refine the plastic kit of the carrier-based Douglas A-1D Skyraider attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The set holds a three-dimensional well for the tail wheel with a faithful inner detail that a plastic kit usually simplifies.
The A-1D Skyraider was a single-seat piston-engine attack aircraft with a radial engine, valued for its heavy load and its long loiter time over the battlefield. The rear wheel well with its retracting wheel is a prominently visible part when the model is viewed from below.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, separate it from the casting block and seat it into the fuselage of the kit. Bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); the inside of the well comes alive once it is picked out with a fine patina.
This is an accessory for a kit, not an aircraft model. The kit itself is not included in the package.
