Injection-molded plastic kit of the A-7P Corsair II attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The A-7P is the export version operated by the Portuguese Air Force. The kit comes from newer molds, with finely engraved panel lines, a well worked-out cockpit and detailed landing gear bays. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The LTV A-7 Corsair II is an American single-seat subsonic attack aircraft derived from the F-8 Crusader fighter. It was designed to carry bombs and rockets for precise air-to-ground strikes and was notable for its long range and load-carrying ability. The Portuguese A-7P variant was created by converting earlier airframes for the needs of the Portuguese Air Force, where it served in coastal defense and training. The short, stocky fuselage with its large nose air intake is characteristic.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the nose gear bay before you close up the fuselage. Fill and sand the air intake and the fuselage joints carefully. Paint over a primer, ideally with an airbrush; the Portuguese gray-green camouflage schemes come to life once the panel lines are picked out with a thin wash. Fit the pylons and the stores only after the base coat has gone on.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
