1:72 Aermacchi MB-339A is a Peewit masking set for spraying the glazing of a model; it is an accessory, not a kit of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking set from the Czech manufacturer Peewit in 1:72 scale, not a kit of an aircraft. The set serves to cover the areas that are to stay clean once the paint is on, above all the glazing of the cockpit, and to achieve a sharp transition between the color of the frames and the clear area. Cutting masks out of tape by hand is thus done away with.
The Aermacchi MB-339 is an Italian two-seat jet intended for training pilots and for light attack tasks. It is derived from the earlier MB-326 type, flew for the first time in 1976 and served with the Italian Air Force and with a number of foreign users. The MB-339A version is the basic trainer variant with seats arranged in tandem and the instructor's rear position raised. That is exactly what the pronounced division of the glazing frames corresponds to, and it is the hardest thing on the model to mask.
Wash and degrease the glazing first, or the mask will not take hold. Lift the individual pieces off the sheet with pointed tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay them on dry first and only then press them down, best of all with a cotton swab from the center toward the edges. Apply the paint in several thin coats; one heavy coat will seep under the edge of the mask and the resulting ridge is hard to put right. Pull the mask off while the paint is fresh, slowly and at a sharp angle.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
