An injection-molded plastic model of the Czechoslovak Aero L-39C Albatros jet trainer in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Eduard. The L-39C version is the basic, unarmed training variant intended for pilot training. The model builds the classic two-seat Albatros with a tandem cockpit. Depending on the particular edition, the package may also contain extras (photo-etched parts and painting masks); the exact contents follow from the manufacturer's part number for the edition.
The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer developed at Aero Vodochody at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s as the successor to the older L-29 Delfin. It was powered by the Ivchenko AI-25TL turbofan engine. The two-man crew sat in tandem in a stepped cockpit giving the instructor a good view. The basic L-39C version served for both basic and advanced flight training and became one of the most widely used jet trainers in the world, used in a number of countries.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic and fill and sand the joints if needed. Apply a primer before painting, lay the paints down with an airbrush in thin coats and mask the camouflage transitions. The cockpit framing comes out well with a mask and a clean gloss coat; apply the decals over gloss varnish and fix them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
