The AH-1F attack helicopter in 1:72

A collector's model of the American AH-1F attack helicopter in 1:72 scale. It is supplied finished, so there is no gluing, filling or painting and the machine can go straight into the display case. For a collector it is a way to add to a line of helicopters without a month of work on a kit, and at the same time a good scale reference next to built models.

The real subject

The AH-1F belongs to the family of American attack helicopters with a narrow fuselage in which the crew sits in tandem: the gunner in front, the pilot higher up behind. The machine stands on skids, carries a two-blade main rotor and has stub wings with pylons for rocket pods and other armament on the sides of the fuselage. In the nose there is a traversing turret with a cannon, aimed independently of the direction of flight. The narrow cross-section of the fuselage was deliberate: head-on, a helicopter like this is considerably harder to hit than a machine with a wide cabin.

Display and care

• Pick the model up by the fuselage, never by the rotor blades or the stub wings.
• Dust it with a soft brush; a cloth catches on the antennas and the barrels.
• Do not display it in direct sunlight, as the paint and the markings fade over time.
• Leave room above the rotor and to the sides in the case, as the blades reach beyond the outline of the fuselage.

The model is supplied finished in the manufacturer's packaging. You do not need glue, paints or tools for it, unless stated otherwise.
