A Montex masking set for a model of the Ambrosini SAI 207 in 1:72 scale is, according to the name, intended for the outer surfaces of the glazing of this Italian fighter. Intended for RS Models kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
Montex offers this set as an accessory for painting a model of this small Italian fighter. The name gives the intended use for the outer side, so the reverse of the cockpit stays with the modeler. The benefit is obvious mainly on small areas, where a single inaccurate cut of tape spoils the impression of the whole model. The set is intended for RS Models kits.
The SAI 207 was a light Italian fighter built mostly of wood, which was to save metals that were in short supply. It was powered by an air-cooled engine with inverted cylinders, thanks to which the aircraft had a slender and aerodynamically very clean nose. Only a small batch entered service and took part in the fighting over the Mediterranean in 1943. The design became the basis for a later and more powerful development type, but neither of them ever reached production in larger numbers.
A small model calls for a smaller nozzle and lower pressure, otherwise the shade goes on too coarsely. Before removing the templates, check whether the paint has crept into the corners of a frame and carefully scrape any overrun off with a toothpick. Italian mottled schemes are sprayed in layers starting from the lightest shade, and the edges of the blotches should be left soft. Unmask the glazing only after the gloss coat under the decals; it will save you cleaning.
The package is an accessory for painting; it contains no model and no paints.
