A vacuum-formed bubble canopy for the Avia S-199 in 1:72 scale in the open position; the package contains 2 pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains two clear vacuum-formed bubble canopies for a model of the Avia S-199 fighter in 1:72 scale, worked out in the open position. It is not a kit of an airplane but an accessory that replaces or supplements the transparent parts of the base model and makes it possible to show the cockpit with the canopy slid back. The bubble shape gives a view in every direction and lends a model a different character from a framed canopy. The two pieces in the package serve as a spare during cutting out.
The Avia S-199 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter based on the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G and fitted with the Junkers Jumo 211 engine. Because of its difficult handling the pilots nicknamed it Mezek, the mule. The bubble canopy improved awareness of the situation around the aircraft and modelers like to use it to bring a build to life.
Cut the part out with a sharp scalpel just above the score line and even the edges up with fine sanding. Clarity is brought out by dipping it in gloss varnish. Use PVA glue or a special canopy glue for gluing; mask the frames before painting.
This is an accessory for more advanced modelers; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
