Resin replacement bomb bay doors for a model of the American four-engine Consolidated B-24 Liberator heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail part from Quickboost. The casting replaces the parts from the kit with a more accurate rendering and lets you capture the characteristic roller-shutter bomb bay doors realistically.
The B-24 Liberator was among the most widespread American heavy bombers of the Second World War. A curiosity of it was the roller-shutter bomb bay doors, which instead of swinging open slid up along the sides of the fuselage like the roll top of a desk. This solution reduced drag over the target and allowed the bomb bay to be opened on the ground as well. A faithful rendering of these doors is among the prominent features of a model.
First wash the parts to remove the remains of the mold release from the mold. Separate them from the casting block carefully with a saw or a knife and glue them on with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Sand with respiratory protection, because resin dust is very fine. Before painting, key the surface lightly and apply a primer suitable for resin.
This is an accessory for refining a plastic kit, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
