B5N Kate 1:72 — a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in yellow kabuki paper for clean masking of the extensively glazed cockpit and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely cut set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the Japanese Nakajima B5N Kate carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale. The masks in fine Japanese kabuki paper hold well, follow curved surfaces and leave no adhesive when taken off. They cover the heavily framed glazing of the long cockpit and the clear parts so that after spraying only the frames remain sharply outlined. The set usually also contains wheel masks for painting the tire and the rim separately.
The Nakajima B5N, Allied code name Kate, was a Japanese carrier torpedo and level bomber. At the time of its service it was among the best machines of its class and played a key role in the early operations of Japanese naval aviation in the Pacific, including the attack on Pearl Harbor. The three-seat aircraft had a long glazed cockpit for the pilot, the navigator and the gunner.
Lift the mask off the sheet with a sharp blade or tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down all round. Lay the paint on in thin layers so that it does not creep under the edge. Take the masks off while the finish is fresh. Mask the long glazed cockpit patiently, field by field.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
