This decal sheet from the Czech maker DK Decals brings markings for the American Bell P-39 and P-400 Airacobra fighters that operated over North Africa and the Mediterranean. It allows several different aircraft to be built from a single sheet and offers carefully researched national and individual markings.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout: the engine sat behind the pilot and a long shaft drove the propeller. The P-400 was the export version originally intended for Great Britain. In the Mediterranean these aircraft served in 1943 with, among others, the 81st and 350th Fighter Groups over Tunisia and Sardinia.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss varnish, which prevents silvering under the decal film. Use a setting solution and a softener so that the markings settle into the engraved lines as well, and once dry give the whole model a coat of varnish to unify the surface.
This is a decal accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included.
