This Quickboost resin detail set contains precisely cast air intake covers (FOD covers) for models of the British version of the Phantom in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that closes the engine air intakes and gives a model the look of an aircraft parked on the ground.
On real machines, FOD covers are fitted over the intakes so that foreign objects cannot get into the engines. On a model they form a prominent and engaging detail, usually in a conspicuous color with an inscription warning that they must be removed before flight. The set as a rule contains two covers.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up with respiratory protection. Bond with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The covers are usually painted in a conspicuous color; any inscriptions can be added with a decal or a mask.
This is an add-on detail set in resin, not a model. Paints, glue, decals and the kit are not included in the package.
