A pair of British general purpose bombs of the 250 lb weight class of the Second World War in 1:72 scale. An accessory for aircraft models; the kit itself is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The bomb designated GP was a British general purpose bomb, that is a weapon meant for a wide range of targets rather than one narrowly defined one. The figure of 250 lb does not denote a caliber but a weight class, roughly 113 kilograms. Bombs of this class were among the most common armament of the Royal Air Force in the first years of the war and were carried by machines from single-engine types to bombers. Their proportion of explosive was lower than that of later British bombs, so newer types gradually replaced them, but on a model of a machine of the corresponding period they fit exactly.
The set contains two bombs of the stated class in 1:72 scale. Whether racks or mounts are included in the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions. The set is meant as an accessory to a kit, not as a standalone model.
Cut the excess material and the traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully so that you do not take the shape of the body down with it. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; a cement meant for plastic kits may have no effect on add-on parts, and the manufacturer's instructions give the exact procedure. Seat the bomb so that the stabilizing fins at the tail point the same way as on the bomb next to it, because armament hung unevenly shows up on a finished model more than any other inaccuracy.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
