A set of masking templates of kabuki tape for a model of the twin-engine C-27J Spartan transport aircraft in 1:72 scale, in the Expert grade.
Responsibility details are not available.
The C-27J Spartan is a twin-engine tactical transport aircraft. It is built to carry cargo and paratroops where a large transport machine cannot land: it has a high-set wing, a rear cargo ramp and sturdy landing gear for short and unpaved strips. A number of European and non-European air arms use it.
Masking templates of kabuki tape for a model in 1:72 scale. Kabuki tape is thin and pliable, so it follows curved surfaces well, holds only strongly enough to be removed without damaging the paint and, pressed down properly, lets no paint past the edge. The templates are pre-shaped in the sheet to the particular shapes of the model, so there is no cutting to a template of your own and the glazing frames come out symmetrical. The name marks the Expert grade; the same subject also comes from the supplier in the Basic grade, and the exact extent of both grades is given in the instructions.
The templates are stuck on before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface. Lift them off the sheet with tweezers, settle them in place and press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a soft stick, above all in the corners by the glazing frames. Lay the paint on in thin coats; a heavy coat cracks at the edge of the mask and lifts when it is removed. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has set; do not pull it straight up but fold it back over itself at a sharp angle. Any adhesive residue comes off with a soft cloth.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
