Responsibility details are not available.
This collector's set in 1:35 scale from Evolution Miniatures shows a member of the American special forces together with an Afghan man from the beginning of the operations in Afghanistan (roughly 2001–2003). It is a resin kit for experienced modelers and figure painters with high detail of the figures and the gear. The pair of figures is ideal for telling a story within a diorama. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
A meeting between a special forces operator and a local inhabitant is a typical motif from the first years of the Afghan conflict, when American units worked closely with locals. The contrast between modern tactical gear and traditional Afghan dress gives the scene a strong atmosphere and narrative charge.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks away and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); sand with respiratory protection. Once a primer has been applied, paint with an airbrush or a brush. The different materials of the two figures – modern camouflage and flowing civilian dress – offer a chance to practice various techniques of painting fabric.
The figures are supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
